Class reflection from January 21st
We discussed what we had learnt from our guest speaker and this is what we said...
Today our class learnt from Mr James from Friends International
He told us that:

  • We should not give money to children who beg on the streets but support groups/ organisations that work with marginalized children.
  • That drugs are not healthy for children and it is not easy to get rid of them when are addicted.
  • That we should not take photos of people without their permission.
  • That when people visit Cambodia they should not go to the orphanages and take photos, because children are not tourist attractions.
  • Friends International work with young people in trouble and their families, they talk to them and build a relationship
  • They ask people if they would like training, for a job
  • They help children catch up with their schooling.
  • They give the children and their families medicine if they are sick.
We found Mr James's presentation really interesting.

  1. Wow, great learning! I remember loving Mr. James' presentation awhile ago. I wonder how this will change how we act around others.

  2. Don't forget to say where you got your image from. Check out Ms. Teresa's class' blog for how to do this.
